So what’s it all about, you ask? I shall tell you! The Righteous Renegade is
about living the Christian life, and all those things which happen to interest
yours truly, which may include literature, history, theology, western arts
(bullwhips and lassos and guns, oh my!), pipes & cigars, music, classic cinema,
and food. In the inherently self-serving nature of blogs, I will write about
what I happen to be interested in, and I hope you will find at least some of it
interesting too! This is a blog, so we shan’t be taking ourselves too seriously,
but all in all, I hope you will find the articles here both entertaining and
profitable.
What is a Righteous
Renegade? Very simple, he is one who is washed in the blood of the Lamb,
and who therefore refuses to conform to the darkness of the world around him. In
other words, he is a Christian.
Don’t you mean
Self-Righteous Renegade? In the spirit of Christian charity, I’ll pretend
you didn’t ask anything so unkind.
Who am I? I am a follower of Jesus Christ, a recent graduate
of Cal Baptist University with a Bachelors in History, and son of the American
West. My theology is Reformed Baptist, of the 1689 Federalist variety; my
politics are sort of a cross between Thomas Jefferson and Alfred the Great. I
am interested in Truth, Beauty, Goodness, and that which is Totally Wicked-Cool.
I defy postmodernism in all its forms. Actually, I defy quite a lot of
things.
